Products that should be avoided.

Practices and Products that should be avoided.

This is a member generated list of products that can damage your vehicle or cause it to
not function properly. This list also contains products that do not function or meet the claims of their advertising. Products are chosen for this list based on the opinions of members who have researched and/or personally used them.



Armor All - Causes cracks after continuous use.
Bosch sparkplugs - Foul easily and cause performance problems
Ebay "Juice Boxes" "Speed Chips" etc. - Scam
Electric Superchargers - Scam
Fram oil filters - Poor construction and performance.
Fuel Mileage Gas Capsules - Ineffective
IAT mods - Ineffective
K&N air filters - Good product, just don't over oil them or expect high performance gains.
Lucas - Causes oil to foam.
Slick50 and any other engine additives with teflon - Causes build-up and can lead to engine damage.
Stop Leak or similiar products designed to stop fluid leaks - Do more harm than good.
Throttlebody Spacers - Ineffective
Tornados - Ineffective, can come apart and cause engine damage.
Turbonators - Ineffective, can come apart and cause engine damage.

I would also like to add Airtex Fuel Pumps to this list.

Short service life, other members claim to have to go through 3-4 before finding one that will work.
