So I ruined an interesting kit in '04...

Just recently I've been getting back into modeling, and i'm wasting money on kits left and right.

Anyways, I had an interesting kit back in late '03..I was going to make a family car with a certain Subaru kit, the "Impreza 20S" At first, the paint went bad..and to make matters worse, it got stepped on before the paint could even be stripped.

Now, three years later, I wanted to build this kit again...and this time take more care of it. However, with searching and searching, I can't even find proof this kit ever existed. Originally it came from HLJ, where there is no sign of it. I can't find it on any other sites, no Ebay, not even a search engine. In fact, when I search for it on Yahoo and Google, it brings up my old AF thread from when I first got the kit.

Here's a box art picture from the '03 thread.

It's an interesting kit of a regular non-WRX Impreza...i'd kill to find it again..but this thing seems to be history...not to mention i've got no remnants of the original kit either.

Help!

It came out when Fujimi released the '03 WRX kits.

How about taking the 2002 Spec. C kit and omit the wing?

Hobby World has it, too.

It doesn't have the wheels or 20S markings. And it looks to have different interior as well.

I've found the original listing on hlj, http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ03573 but I can't find it anywhere else online. Hopefully this might help.

discontinued... really sucks
Did you throw the kit away? if you still have it, I would suggest restoring it big time with all kinds of putty and plastic sheets/rods

If it's any consolation, the Fujimi interior is all wrong anyway with this generation Impreza; all they did was take the earlier generation 2-door tub and make a poor attempt to fit it into this kit. I vaguely remember this particular kit being available for a nanosecond. Just keep searching or try to convert one of the other available cars into this one. I imagine in overall popularity of Impreza kits, this one is pretty low. Most people want to live vicariously through their models, most want performance cars, not grocery-getters Hope you can find this one, as grocery-getters make cool models.

It's up for sale on Yahoo Japan Auction, but it's gonna cost US$50-60, using one of those auction proxies.

Many modelers spend $200 for a MFH's resin kit, because they think it's worth it. I guess the question is how much the 20S kit means to you.

I think that kit had all the same parts, minus the STi bodykit, as the STi and WRX releases. The STi and WRX had a molded closed hood, so you could make that base version. Was that the FWD Impreza model in Japan? Or was it more like our RS? Good luck dude. Oh, the wheels are diff, yea..
