H&R Suspension

My P11 brothers & Sisters,

Can anyone help with my query? I've invested in H&R springs for my 1998 GT 5 door, but i'm not happy with da ride quality, it seems much harsher than i expected, even though it looks fine!
I've been thinking the standard shocks might not be up to the task, so does anyone know of a good set of shocks to match my springs or where the info i need might be hiding?:smoker2: :help: :help: :smoker2:

Just get some reasonable ones, they wont be great quality but hopefully you aint gonna use 'em that many times (avoid the really cheap ones
as they're crap & can bend)

Another option is to remove the struts then take them to a suspension shop and have them change the springs. It shouldn't cost much, as there would be an hour of labour at most, and you wouldn't need to buy a spring compressor.

From my experience, and checking your mods, I have the H&R on my car and my first set of tires was the same as yours, only they were Toyo but with the same spec 215/40-17. The ride was baaad, I then change the tires with 45 instead of 40, and the quality of the ride improved a lot. I still have the stock shocks, planing to do a full upgrade to a better suspension, but the 40 series tires seems to be too little.

Thanks for da advice Rcer! I've since treated myself to some Koni's all round, which has improved da ride ten-fold. However, the deal with the larger tyre profile sounds a winner! Does your speedo still seem to be quite accurate? Or is the variance too small to be concerned about?:smoker2: :sun:
