is this too much?

Well me being paranoid as hell about my car being stolen, I was thinking about getting the Auto Lock, the lock that locks up the clutch (or brake for automatics). Now I have a alarm (which really does nothing as we know), and I have the club. I think especially for overnight parking, the combo of the Club, Auto Lock and the alarm is pretty good. Anyone think this is over kill? Also, does any have any experiance with the Auto Lock?

Thanks!

I've never used it personally but I know a guy who has it on his SUV and he said it works great. He even tried busting it out with a hammer and that didn't work. Thieves will be able to get around anything if they want your car bad enough. I do, however think its a good idea to put as much anti-theft stuff on there so it looks less appealing to a potential thief. Make them choose an easier car to mess with.

Also, have you installed a fuel pump cutoff switch yet? Thats very simple to do and that will do a good job. Let me know if you need the instructions. The instructions are for a Del Sol, but easily adaptable for a civic.

The Club does not work, will not work, and has NEVER worked - do you not turn on the television?

And the Autlock is made by the same people that made the club - their top "expert" / reformed car theif is a major stock holder in the company... Should make you think twice.

Yeah, instead of trying to saw through the club, theives realized that it's much easier to saw through the steering wheel and get the club off that way... waste of time/money if you ask me.

I, am also anti-club. I look at it and think it more says, "This is my petty try to stop you from stealing my car, so go ahead and try to steal me," instead of it saying, "You can't even think about trying to steal me." Install more mechanical saftey features, like 93speed said, a fuel cutoff. Or you can always journey into the wonderful world of sound. I don't know if there are alarms like this available, but I know that it's possible to give off a sound that will distort someones vision, make them feel nauseous, or worse. Sound is an amazing thing. Look into it. But then again, like 93speed also said, if they want your car bad enough, nothing will stop them from taking it.

I remember that from a while back. From what i remember some of the crooks would bring their own steering wheel! lol.

But yea, the more though i gave to this alarm/club/auto lock thing, the more sence it made. Its all about layering the security.

I'm not really a theif, and don't know what they think about, but I know that there is a battery cutoff switch that you can attatch to one of your battery posts. You would probably have to run your alarm off of a different power source because that will shut off everything (clocks, alarm, ect.). You pretty much are best off going with a electric fuel pump cutoff switch located somewhere out of sight. Especially if you leave your car somewhere overnight.
