WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
Starting work on a Tamiya F50 Full-View. It's my first model in a while and the build will be lengthy given free time availability. In any case, here are a few shots of the completed cockpit.

Re: WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
Thanks for the encouraging comments guys. Given that it's my first build in quite a while, I am somewhat pleased of how it has turned out so far. Hopefully, the rest will come out well too.
I will post new progrees as soon as I'm done with the next item: the engine. It will be my first attempt at wiring and plumbing detail as well. |

Re: WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
The bodies so clear, cant see any glue marks
Nice start on the interior. I havn't seen one of these built yet, I do fancy doing one painted just on one half.

Re: WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
Well that's what I'm planning. Paint half of the body, but just the bottom half (upto the black line around the sides) leaving the tops (front and rear) clear to expose the detail work in the engine bay and front compartment. I'm also thinking of finishing the inside of the body (areas behind the painted body) in carbon fiber rather than the suggested black paint in the instructions.
I will also opt for the barchetta version (no roof) to allow a better view of the detail in the cockpit. Now it's just a question time and execution... |

Re: WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
But...
You've already built the front, are you going to add front compartment detail?

Re: WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
Yes Ferrari TR, you're right there is no detail in there yet but there will be. Nothing major, just the battery and some cf detail. I will go by some reference pics I found.

Re: WIP Tamiya F50 Full-View
How will you be getting rid of all the mould lines and the round marks on the inside of the body? As this is what has kept me from doing my one of these

Quote:
![]() As for the push pin marks, same thing- but if you're applying CF from behind, you don't need to be quite as vigorous in polishing those spots. Paining them with acrylic clear gloss and then applying the CF should hide the scratches very well if they're fine.
