Must...do..Homework

I can't concentrate on my Christian Ethics assignment. All I have to do is write two paragraphs about what I want to be when I'm older and then slap some pictures on the net onto Word.

I'm typing away.. and then I wonder what's going on here on AF. Okay, so I take a few moments and read some threads. Man, it's kinda bland, gotta get some music going! I'm hungry, I need ice cream. The kitchen is so cold, I think I need a blanket, better go to me room and get one. Hey! A TV! Whoa! My playstation. Holy S*@t ! Gran Turismo 4!

<four hours later>

I'm hungry.

I can feel my grades slipping already. I have such poor study habits. It's funny, because people think I'm school smart I don't even know how I got into Calculus for that matter. Screw this 21st century.

Re: Must...do..Homework

i just wrote a 6 page essay, 16 slide power point, not a lot, but the requirements and info on those 16 were a bitch, took 5 quizzes and a test all between 8-1030 with about 5hrs of breaks in between. man up and get it done...

not to mention i did it all from scratch, studied for the test while taking the quizzes and did the research all today for that essay. kids these days...

Re: Must...do..Homework

You bet I'm still in high school, it's my last year.

--and relax Damien, it's just tongue and cheek I've been bombarded with exams left and right last week, so I know what the work load is like, especially working 40 hours a week. Everyone needs some R&R Wouldn't want some crazy ghost telling you to kill your family I'm just frustrated because the assignment seems so small, it's almost pointless (giving me less reason to do it), so I'm poking fun at it.

Re: Must...do..Homework

And I thought I had it bad this weekend. 1 major architecture project, 1 minor arch project, 1 5-7 page english essay on my position of marijuana legalization, 4 analysi of research on english subject, shoot and develp another roll of HP5 film, print 4 8x10's and fix any white dots. Everything but the photography is due Tuesday and I've only started on two of those assignments...

Re: Must...do..Homework

So you have a problem with self discipline, procrastination and time management. All we can do is suggest techniques for you to try to stop the bad habits dude.

Did you ever stop to think that if you had just sat down for <10 mins you would have that bit of work out of the way? And the fact that you've left it at the back of your mind on a 'to-do-list', that it probably seems much harder than it it?

As for complaining about a 40 hour week, come back when 40 becomes 70 mate. And only 40-45 of that is billable ($$$ hours).

Re: Must...do..Homework

My dad put in ~60 hours of overtime in one week. That one overtime check was the same as two weeks paid for him. Nice amount of money too.

It was on the 'to-do list' because I had other (more important) assignments to do first. With school (30 hours a week) and work together would be about 70 hours, and only 40 of those hours are also billable, but this doesn't include the time I spend on homework (or lack of ).

Remember: This thread was made in a tongue in cheek fashion, please! ..but I guess sarcasm on the internet is like drinking water with a fork.
