Radio issues

Has anybody had problems with the radio reception in the Aveo. I listen to AM while driving to work........And I get a bunch of crackling and poping and its not a static thing, it sounds like an electrical thing. I changed the head unit and still had it out of a top shelf Pioneer system. I dont know what to do, besides running a whole new antena.

HELP!

Have stock Aveo cd mp3 player, don't have any problems with the radio except for short reception area. It seems to be limited slightly for long distance reception, doesn't bother me because when I can't recieve a station clearly I just hit the CD button and listen to it.No clicks or pops and great sound quality for an inexpensive car.

I had great reception when I had my stock am/fm radio. not as good with the cheap aftermarket cd player I put in, but still acceptable. mine is an '04.

Talking AM Reception

Just in case anybody still has problems with the radio, I just bought a regular metal antena from Kragens. It only cost me 10 bucks, and the radio comes in just fine now. No more poping or anything. Something must have been wrong with that crap the put on the car at the factory. They must not have AM in Korea!

Re: Radio issues

I have a 325ic, about 10 years old. The radio has started to crackle really loudly, cut out, then come back and sound fine. It usually happens when I turn off the car and then back on within an hour or so, but will randomly sound generally terrible. It's a stock unit, 6 CD changer- Blaupunk (sp?) maybe? Do these radios just go bad after awhile? Hate to pay $100 to get it fixed and then go bad again.
Thanks...

Re: Radio issues- PS

If the radio is shot, anyone know where to buy a replacement without paying through the nose?
