This is what I planned on getting, but it requires modification since its only made for the civic and not the CRX (this is what Apex told me)...

Someone told me I should look into a better performing cat as well... everything from the headers back is still HF.

I would say go with the HKS system for your car. It is very quiet and when you mash it it sounds decent. If not go with Greddy. Both effective sleeper exhausts although the greddy tip will give you away. The HKS' tips look stock.

Anything wrong with getting a custom made setup?Run a high-flow cat, any decent headers, 2 1/4" mandrel bent pipe and a straight through muffler (maybe run a premuffler too). I got quoted Au$950 for this setup - halve that for US prices.

Tanabe Hyper Medalion ! 2 1/2 piping, nice deep low tones, not loud, never the weed eater sound. Guarenteed 8-15hp gains.

That always seems like the best option if you have it available to you. You can always get the muffler that suits what sound you like.

Any reccomendations on a high flow cat?

I have the Greddy Sp cat back. It got much louder when the car got flooded, so it's not really a good comparison. It is pretty quiet until the vtec crossover, then it wails (rarely a good thing).
