Looking nice already!

Is that Alcalad you've used on the wheels?

How did you mask around the front bumper? Looks tricky to mask right up into the corner there.

the wheels are painted with Tamiya TS30 silver leaf, all masking was done with Tamiya masking tape. It is a little tricky to mask.

LOL... It looks so naked w/out the decals!

Did you find many interior reference shots? I've always come up dry...

Something I've noticed is that almost all DTM cars have wide wheel arches. Is tehre a reason for this?

Having built this kit i can see the outstanding effort already gone into it.
Decals can be a bit of a challenge bit with a bit of time turn out good

Looks pretty good, especially the yellow, I find that one of the most tricky colours to paint. Masking is very well executed! Any additional details that will go into it?

Let me have a look around for detail shots...

It's because the DTM car bodies are only look-a-likes.
There's a V8 mounted in front and as a consequence the wheels and mountings are much wider then on stock ones. It's nearly F-1 technology but with a look-a-like bodyshell over it.

Reference Pictures:

You can find some interior shots on the official Opel Performance website. Browse by race and you'll find here and there some interesting pics. They're all on 2002 machinery but I don't think that there's much difference. At least it'll give you a good idea. There are multiple pics pages per event. Click on "Seite 1, 2, 3" to access those.

Also there is a buidling report on my siteAutomotomover . It's done by one of the visitors - Christophe Wera - who send in this report and he has done the CF by spray painting it himself instead of CF decals.

Cheers

I see. So it's sort of like a 911GT1; it only looks like a 911 on the outside?

Have any other cars appeared in the real-life DTM series apart from Mercedes, Alfa, and Opel?
