Cheap exhaust muffler

What is the cheapest exhaust mufflers there are to get for a civic?
I've seen some exhausts that they say are only for the 1.6 civic but it doesnt say anything about my 1.4!

But, can anyone recommend me any exhaust back boxes that are the cheapest and are good? remember also that i've only got the 1.4 engine!!

thanks :alien:

you'll prolly never find an actual exhaust system for your car, buy any type of universal muffler, then just take it to a shop and get pipes made for it.

you are gonna have a really hard time finding and exhaust cheap or expensive. 1.6 is a lot easier to fit than the 1.4

i agree get a universal exhaust and have it fit. go to a place like midas or try any muffler shop.

good luck

universal muffler?

ummm....any recomendations?
what is wrong with getting an exhaust made for the 1.6?
is it something to do with the back pressure and making my car slower instead?!

it wont line up correctly underneath your car, no problem with the size of the pipe, altho i dont know a good size for you to use on a carbed car, maybe 2" tops. i got my muffler from www.streetbeatcustoms.com the mini draggster. but ive heard the arospeed bomb is nice too, but real loud.

Thumbs up Universal muffler fitting

After acquiring my civic, about 2 months later I was headed out to my car one morning and noticed that the muffler was laying on the ground. After determining the cause was rust, I decided that this gave me an excuse to get a REAL muffler so that when I am mobbin I could "make my presence known:flash:

anyhow, the muffler shop did custom work and it costed $200 total for the muffler and the labor to put it on and I can say that it is pretty tight

anyhow I really like the new piping and my car never sounded better.
Good luck.

Oh and these are greatly simplified diagrams

if you want to go really cheap, and i mean really damn cheap just go buy a fiberglass packed muffler. i got one after the stock one just about fell off. it only cost 30 for the muffler, and 20 for the exhaust tip. i would have got something worth while, but im getting rid of the car. it sounds alright, nothing like a real quality cat-back, but it's okay for now. not loud, until you get to about 3500+ rpm
