I have a 85 Nissan pick up. with the 2.4 The trouble seems to be after I drive it 10 or so miles it loses all of it's power. The more I step on the gas the less power I have. Any suggestions on what it could be??? or do I just need to take some gas and match to fix the problem.....lol I changed the fuel filter on it .

It sounds like it is has restricted fuel/air/and or exhaust.
If it takes it 10 miles to happen, then it is happening once things get warm. When its cold it runs till it warms up. Hmmm. I had a cat. converter go bad on me once, and the car behaved just as you have described. The catylitic (do not even want to learn how to spell it, hell, let's just banish them) converter had colapsed but it still allowed some exhaust to pass through, but as it warmed up, the cat. converter let even less air through, eventually the car would die. Wait a while, and it would start back up. Have a good mechanic check it out for you. Have them cut out the cat. and put in a 'test pipe'. Then run around and 'test' it. Peace. T. |

Re: Nissan Pick-up trouble
sounds like a cat. Try taking it to a muffler shop they should be able to check if it's the catalytic converter for free.
