Honda Civic Type R - rally (in progress)

Hi!
First at once, I wish to apologize for mine not the best English.

It is my first post on AF, and I would like to present you conversion of Model Honda Civic from Fujimi.

So, we shall begin.
New Civic from Fujimi is new enough model, but lacks simple Fujimi`s models it has received all wholly:
- insufficiently qualitative moulding, greater displacement of compression moulds and, most likely, lacks of development of compression moulds;
- very simplified interior;
- very simple suspension bracket, the bottom with the engine, an exhaust system one detail.

In general, I have understood what do It " of a box " I cannot and I do not want.

The first decision - what to do - was born not at once. The problem of a choice - or to build detailed road Сивик, or to do conversion. Detailed elaboration of the road version would demand manufacturing of many details " from zero ", and in the form of, close enough, modelling to the prototype. Having a repair and service manual, I counted, that the level а coping an interior and a suspension bracket after alteration will turn out sufficient.

Strictly speaking, rally and track Civic`s enough greater rarity, in scale does only Hasegava, but to alter Civic in it rally variant to me it seems easier, having in stock spare parts from Impreza which was first my model and which has not been finished. As a result it should turn out deeply conversion of rally Civic, not having a concrete binding to the concrete machine.

Moreover, it, we shall directly tell, absolutely abstract Civic. Such machine never was, and, never will be. Half of details of the machine it will be exact wrong, and made "on motives".

Probably, I shall be will criticize for such free approach, but it some kind of experiment, and " I so see it ".

For Civic used aftermarket decals from Studio 27. Such, what have seemed to me the most nice. Considering, that Impreza and Civic a little bit different proportions, the scheme of decal`s accommodation have has turned out completely not such as in the original Studio`s instruction. But, considering the concept chosen for construction of this model, and it too is represented to me admissible. Within the limits of the concept for concrete model.

The Body is painted TS14 from Tamiya, it is polished, carefully washed and from above it is covered by three layers a glossy varnish from Gunze (46). The varnish is polished with Fine and Finish Compaunds from Tamiya.

Decals used with chemistry from Gunze. And This is good choice.

Well here while also all. Thanks.

Best regards, Konss

Beautyfull paint job, This car is not my favorite Civic but it could look good in this livery (allthou Texaco would be better sponsor for Cart or Daytona but OK)
I will follow your progress.
And welcome to the forum

Nice work. Reminds me to get cracking on my Golf Mk II rally car, and to decide what I'm doing with the R-M Civic (Street or rally).

Your English is pretty good: Much better than my Russian! Welcome to AF.

Welcome to AF.
"Absolutely abstract" - I like that term. As do I like the way your phantom rally car is turning out.

Re: Honda Civic Type R - rally (in progress)

Hi Konss,

Lovin your civic! I've got one to build later and you've just inspired me to make it into a phantom rally car! Where did you get the decals from? I guess I could use standard decals from a similar sized car (i.e. not any decals which wrap round specific body parts of the other car, as they wouldn't fit)
