Idle Air Control Valve

1995 Chevy Cavalier 2/3 quad 4 engine.

What are the symptoms of a bad or failing IAC Valve? My car runns chuggy when I first start it up and it sounds chuggy for the first few minutes. It also blows smoke when its doing this? Anyone have ideas?

hope to help

first off, does it die while idleing, and if so does it start right back up. symptoms include but are not limited to rough idle, engine "looping" and dying while at idle or stop.

Re: Idle Air Control Valve

Clean your IAC and throttle body. Also, dump a can of SeaFoam in your gas tank.

Re: Idle Air Control Valve

SeaFoam is kinda like fuel injector cleaner, but it cleans more/better. Most major auto stores have it. You should also check or replace your spark plugs & wires.
