Noisy new windshield wiper
Folks,
I had the local repair shop install new wiper blades. The one on the drivers side makes a loud slapping noise whenever the blade reaches the left edge of the window and heads back. It is quite annoying. I realize that it has to flip back but is the noise necessary? Can i adjust it to reduce/remove the noise? Thanks. Spedprof |

Re: Noisy new windshield wiper
Clean your windshield with #000 steel wool and windex. It won't scratch, I promise. Impurities that stick to the glass make new rubber stick more. Normally, the blades rock back and forth as they change direction, but the new rubber makes more friction and more rocking. If it rocks enough, the metal of the wiper blade contacts the glass making a slapping noise. Scrub like crazy with #000 steel wool and it should be fine.
