Alcad in a can?!!?

So I've found a way to fabricate/modify a '72 Nova bumper to look like a '74, but now of course it's all messed up and missing half the chrome. So two questions:

1. How much would Chrometech charge to dip just the one bumper?

2. Can I find Alcad in a spraybomb? I use only spraybombs so I don't really feel like buying an airbrush just for that. Are there any other types of chrome-in-a-can?

yea there is, duplicolor makes it, it has a chrome cap, and comes in various colors, very good chrome effect for not being dipped

you can buy re-fillable aerosols, you pump them up with a bicycle pump. i think a few automotive stores sell them, i think www.jcwhitney.com if i find it i'll let you know, i saw one in their catalogue a while back.

Duplicolor Chrome look good for 3 weeks max. after that, it dull a lot.

Alclad is avalaible in Spraycan, but it's a Lexan paint and will not give good result.

Alclad II with airbrush is still the best way. or if you want, you could try Bare Metal Foil.

Ya, I'm aware of BMF as a possibility, I just don't think I'm good enough at laying it down yet.... but I guess we'll see. I think I might try the dupli-colour as well.... the spot that's un-chromed right now is just below the licence plate and is kinda small, so probably not that noticeable anyway...

If it's a very small part, Testor Enamel Silver (small bottle) will mix not that bad with Real Chrome

Chrome fingernail polish is good for touching up sprue scars on chrome parts too.

Re: Alcad in a can?!!?

Does the duplicolour one have a shiny gold cap? I saw it at Crappy Tire but I wasn't sure if it was gold chrome...
