Angry 325 ci engine noise

Does anyone have experiance with engine noise which appears immediately after start of the engine if it is cold. It lasts for about 1 minute while the engine idles. My dealer has changed the waterpump, the belt tensioner and the dynamo, but the noise is still there.
My car is a 325 ci from 2002 and has only run 25.000 km.

I have been trying to find out the same thing. Doing some searching brought up some information in regards to the secondary air pump that can make this noise. I too have an appointment with my dealer to get this noise checked out. Let me know if they find the problem.

M54 noise when cold

Hello Tomd,

I picked up my car after it has been in the repairshop for almost a week.
They have replaced the powersteering pump. I have been driving the car for 1 day now, and it seems to me that the noise is disappeard. I started the car after a very cold night, and it did no longer make the metallic noise !!

My engineer told me that the noise is passed on to the engine, because the pump is connected with metal tubes.

I hope this will help you, by passing it on to your workshop.
