99 civic ex

I am going to my my friends 99 civic ex off of him. it already has rims and an exhaust and springs. I was wondering what performance parts would i benifit from with $2,000. the only thing is that when I pay off the car, I am going to put a built-up lsvtec turbo in it. what parts would be universal for these two engines and also help benifit my ex engine and as well as the lsvtec turbo? aslo. what is the engine code on the 99 ex?
thank you,
Josh

Well you can do alot with $2000. The parts that you buy for the EX wont be universal over to the LSVTEC. So i would just say, get a cam sprocket and pulleys for now and save the rest for later and when you do the swap you will be able to sell some of that stuff to get some of your money back.
P.S. The engine code on the 96-00 Civic EX is D16Y8.

Is your exhaust the full cat-back?
If not get a custum one done.
And the car is dropped so save yourself the time and trouble and get a camber kit. It will save you money on tires in the long run.
A header might be universal because i bought an OBX 4-2-1 header for my 99 civic ex and they said it will fit DOHC too. But i never tested it so I'll never know.
Also change your springs into a full coilover kit because you will need an upgraded suspension for the heavier ls/vtec.
Hope this helped.

does anyone think i would be better off to just do a b16a swap? and what parts, ie ignition, fuel managment, computer, cai, or exhaust would be universal from the 99 ex motor to the new si motor and also be of benifit to a turbo? i did plan on getting a camber kit and i am considering a nice set of shocks. does anyone think this would be suitable for suspension? i dont plan on racing it, i just would like it to handle nicely.
