Hi,
I am the unfortunate owner of a 2001 Infiniti QX4 Lemon. Already 40 days of warranty repair. Defective body joint weld. Numerous other problems.

In December Infiniti told me they were considering a buyback because of all of my problems. Without looking at my vehicle again, they now say I have no problems.

You can read the full story at my site:

I will make sure I email Nissan/Infiniti about it.
I suggest everyone who reads this does the same.

oh, i feel sorry for you.
QX4 is a good automobile, you just got very unlucky,
i will also try to email them.
i don't blame you, but why didn't you try to return it the next day when you heard the sound?
also, i think you could've test driven it for a week before actually buying the car. Infiniti/Nissan lets you do that.
I wouldn't have done it either though,...... but next time i buy a car, i will remember to do this, so that i won't get into your position, thanks for sharing it with us.

Yes, they are based off the Pathfinder (my favorite SUV), but this is not th first case of lemon juice I have heard. it mainly deals with the implant of a different AWD system into it, ie the Skyline GTR's HICAS (or Attesa, forget which) system. Now this system is slightly larger than the Pathfinders regular 4wd system, and it also requires more work, ands more structure underneath. The usual problems I hear is stalling, and thats because of the angle of attack (i call it) is wrong. Nissan, even though I love that compay, needs to get a clue. You cannot put in a drivetrain from a Sports car and expect it to work perfectly in an SUV. You said body wield joints? Thats a first time for me. Maybe its b/c its the firs 2001 I have heard gone sour. But it could be b/c of its new chassis/monoque that Nissan is flaunting. Its great if you love offroad driving, but because of the constant flexing the seams may come apart. Thats the only reason I see to explain that. Hope it helps!

ahh the QX4. It`s just a rebadged Pathfinder, a bit old by these days already.... I like it anywise.
Its weird to hear that kind of problems from a good brand, oh well, bad luck I guess
