installing different inst. cluster...96 base model

I was wondering if the digital inst. cluster would work in place of the base cluster...digital is from 96 police model...i have a 96 base model..thanks

Not without extensive modification and adding of SEO wiring harnesses. I already thought about doing it, too much work involved.

Heh, yeah. I was spoiled by my 1991 Cutlass Supreme with the digital cluster, when I got my 99 Lumina I said, "Aw, crap. Now I have to LOOK for my speedometer.."

Ah well. I just put the tach cluster in mine, that was easy enough.

Yup, just get the console/column shift as appropriate.

how difficult would it be to switch to console shift?

I'm not sure.

The 60/40 seat would need to be swapped for a regular seat, you'd have to go shopping for the console, shifter, ashtray, shifter cable, shift stop solenoid, the steering column trim, the cluster, and all the trim/screws that go with it.
