to many tranny's to choose from
Hey guys im just wondering what the best transmission is for a 92 fox im putting a 302 in it so i know to just go with a t-5 but which one, the stadard, world class, or cobra R. I saw all of these for sale in 5.0 n SF so im just curious what the pros n cons of each are.

Re: to many tranny's to choose from
well it would be easier i ff you put your intentions with the car in that post brian{about 300-350 hp in the 12s} i would say to get a world class t-5 or a tremec. if you want a little more room to grow i would suggest a tremec tko 500-600

It really does depend on your future plans hp levels? slicks? how your planning to launch it? what gears in the rear? street driving? etc.., will all depend on what you need.
Just so you the 93/95 Cobra R is a Tremec 3550

Re: to many tranny's to choose from
Thanks GT STANG i wanna trans that will handle up 350-400 with the possibility of 500 later on. I plan on using a 8.8 ford rear end, zr rated tires no slicks or drag radials, prolly 3.73 gears n street driven with the ocasional dragstrop visit

For that with no slicks or even drag radials you could prob get away wit a T-5Z.... unless your like Craig and break trannies like it's your job.
If you were more in the 400-500 range, I would upgrade to one of these options under the better safe than sorry method, tranny options could be: 1. Modified T-5 2.New 3550 from FMS 3.TKO500/600 4.Good used 3550/TKO
