Re: Build Your Own V8
Just to point out, you do know those aren't real running engines. In relation to the scale, firstly, the HP would be at an extremely higher RPM. Remember, since HP is in distance traveled its a product of piston speed. Going from a 3.5"/4" stroke to a tiny stroke like that, drastically reduces piston speed and as such, you have to increase your RPM to compensate the HP.
Also, do they even make spark plugs that small, even better, carbs thats small!? I could keep nit picking further, but sorry... im a nerd.... :P |

Re: Build Your Own V8
I don't see why it couldn't produce 2.1 hp. I've seen some 20 cc large model airplane motors make well over 14 hp at 20,000 rpms. I think 2 is possible at 4000. Unlikely, but possible.
That's probably also their source for carbs... model hobbies

So its a functional 4 stroke motor? Does it have valves and cam shafts?

Re: Build Your Own V8
The designs are done in jpg! THATS Microsoft PAINT! They just dont seem real to me. I just can't understand why it would make its peak HP at 4k rpm. For the minute size of the cams and heads. ALSO! If you notice on one the pictures of the motors, theres one with the cam looking thing on top of rocker looking things, you'll notice, there is NOTHING driving the cam... Its just freefloating/pivoting... I just can't see it being a four stroke... So then if its a two stroke, back to my first question, 2.1hp at 4k rpm? Just way to low... But I did think of that about the carbs curtis, but right after my post... to lazy to edit it though... :P
So who wants to be the first person to drop $40 and find out if its real or not? |

Its in my beard trimmer, thats what it is. It is a little bit noisy and gets some oil on the face, but the ladies love that nice smooth skin. I am also planning on attaching one to a vibrator. Wow this is going downhil quick.

Re: Build Your Own V8
I would have machined the outer surfaces to make it look better. As a long time hobbiest model builder it looks bad. I have a small end mill and I always want my work to look good.
