Question BMW 750 brakes????

My 1989 BMW 750 pauses when I stomp on the brakes. I pulled the fuse from the ABS and it still happens. When in traffic if the guy in front of me stopps quickly I react quickly and there is a 1.5 second delay which has almost caused a few accidents. What is the problem?

What do you mean pauses? Is there a hesitation in brake pad application after you step on the pedal?

This is obviously dangerous. I would check the lines, the age of the fluid, and state of the brake booster.

I don't know with the early models but BMW 7 suppose to have this electronically supported brakes. They go like this, you brake slow or even with high amount of energy and they brake smuthly but surely.
You HIT the brakes in case of emergency and it allmost suckes down the pedal and stops like crazy. Maybe there is a problem in this system.
How about the braking discs? Anyway let the proffessional take a look at this.

Talking Nitrogen "brake bomb" is gone...

E32s have a hydraulic assist on the brakes, run off the power steering pump - not engine vacuum like most other cars. The system keeps a pressure "reserve" in a nitrogen-gas-pressurised steel pressure vessel - a steel "ball" with a rubber diagphram separating the oil from the gas. They age, and then the system does not respond quickly.

Refitting is usually a spin off, spin on, check seals & top-up situation. They're not too expensive.
