Need Help with Speaker Enclosure!!
Hey Guys,
I'm not really a Speaker Enclosure Guru... but I wanna build a box myself because it will be a lot cheaper.Basically this is what I want....I have 3 JL Audio 10w-6's I want to run 2 6 inch ports from my trunk through the back deck of my car, thus eliminating Trunk Rattle. Now, what dimensions does this box have to be?? I have no clue where or how to start. All I know is that the ports have to be on the top of the box because they have to extend to the cab of my car. Please any and all help would be appreciated. I already have the 3/4 MDF wood I just need help with a design. You can either reply to this message or contact me via AIM - ymerej21 Thanks Again 92Accord92 |

Anyway, take a look at your spec sheets for your subs. They will give you the recommended volume for each sub as well as recommended port size & length. Based on simple Height x Length x Width = Volume formula, you will be able to come up w/ something... custom maybe...

Where in Florida do you live -- maybe I could help you out.
The formula is pretty simple... Length x Width x Height = volume Dont you remember this from school? Heres an example... 1' x 1' x 1' = 1 cubic foot So a 2 cubic foot box would be like... 2' x 1' x 1' Or a 3 cubic foot box would be like... 3' x 1' x 1' You get the idea now right? Remember that the wood is 3/4 inch thick, so remember that you will have to subtract that from some of your measurements -- like, a 1 CUBIC FOOT box is really 1' x 1.125' x 1'
