Question "new" 1996 cavalier

My brother in law and I just got a cavalier in an auction-- it is a 1996 2.2 4cyl with 88k it appears as if it were well maintained--what kind of routine maintenance should we do at 88k --does this motor have a timing belt or a chain?--I would be interested to see what your opinions are on how many miles this car has left on it with out any major or minor overhauls---What are some common problems to be on the lookout for?:help: :help:

Re: "new" 1996 cavalier

This car has a lot of life left in it. It uses a Timing chain. The last one I changed had about 200,000 on the chain and gears, they were not in bad shape. Good Luck.
