Mid engine in a metro isn't too far fetched. There's a guy in teamswift who's building a dual engine swift GT. One in the front, one in the back. I don't think the frame is strong enough to handle the weight and torque of a V-8. Plus it would handle like crap with all that offset weight from the tranny and engine. If you're gonna get rims, they have to be a 114.3X4 bolt pattern. Any tread wider than 195 will rub on the fender and inner wheel well when turning, unless you roll in the inner lip in the fenders.

Look for an older Chevy 3.1 turbo V-6. The old cavaliers they were in have about the same shock tower and axle measurements as a metro, as well as the same size engine bay. It might bolt in with minor mods. Or just a N/A 3.1L v-6.

Re: Geo impossible

It don't matter what car you have.I belive can tweak anything.Remember the (Mini Cooper)Metros can be the same. You can get an engine from a Mini Cooper S.And it easly fits or consider geting an engine from a 1995 VW Golf.I hop this helps you.Metro are the same as a Mini Cooper. I not trying to bore you all,the man who made the
Mini worked hard to get his car noticed. The mini cooper is one of the best smallest cars around and can out run a civic and integra.Civics and integras didn't get the award for the best car all around.
