Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gents:
I am trying to help one of my workers. He is a good man, and speaks only Spanish. So it has befallen me to find a fix for his 1991 3.3L Dodge 4 speed Caravan. He bought it with a shot transmission, not realizing the expense of repairing it. After much searching I found him a used one that he put in himself, and it promptly blew after 3 days. I found him another which the shop insisted they put in his car, and I was glad for that. Now the latest is that the shop tells me that this second transmission is great, only...oh, oh...the spedometer will not work. They tell me they have replaced the chip a couple of times, and with a different chip, the spedometer worked, but the transmission didn't, and it goes on and on. They now are suggesting that I take the car as is, which I am reluctant to do, because I am assured that the spedometer worked when the vehicle was taken to the shop for it's new transmission. Does anyone PLEASE have any idea what to do? This is a manual labourer, and he works hard for his cash. Thanks so much.
