Unhappy really desparate for help ... please

hi guys i have a problem with my gf car and we cant find the problem.
The car is a 4g92 model mitsubishi lancer with a 1.6 mivec engine and its an automatic

Basically
1 on idle the car is terrible if you try to rev it it will switch off before it warms up.
2 The car is slow for what it is supposed to be 175 ps !!! its comparable to a 1.5 (i know its an automatic and it only revs to 7500 but still.
3 the biggest tell tale problem is that when i floor it the car starts to accelerate and the revs go up 2 - 3 -4000 revs, the minute i remove my foot the revs drop about 1500 revs , and its not the automatic changing gear. Worse is if i am drivign and i press the throttle and tease it on off on off , the revs jump 3500 / 2000 / 3500 /2000

Please guys help ive been to mechanics but no one can find the problem it drives me crazy.

Ps i have checked everything logical and the car has had a full service, the smoke from the back of the car is normal, no water in the oil, all components under car look fine.

I wish i could do a compression test but no mechanic down here does one !!!

plz help

thanks

your right man, try the compression test first, then see if your throtle body is clean or gunked up, It could also be your fuel pump...it could be alot of things. What type of sounds does the car make?

thanks for answering , unfortunately nobody does compression testing !!!

About the fuel pump or throttle body, it doesnt feel like the throttle body gets blocked its not like it doesnt pull its just plain dead all through the power band, i would believe the most tell tale sign would be the way the revs rise and drop when i blip the throttle

about the miles not too many about 70,000 and its had full service including timing belts changed. Gearbox oil and respective filters as well as all other things in a full service.

i donno about the fuel pump it doesnt do that whirring that would be associated with it when it dies out....

the only other thing is that the car in general runs a little rich , the sparks and the exhaust indicate this, and the car felt nicer when i removed the filter/airbox and the mixture leaned itself out a bit just to test if i was right , but still thats no solution.

I was worried about the gasket but there is no water in the oil, the coolant doesnt dissapear abnormally fast and no oil on the sparks, i mean ive seen cars that run better than this and their sparks were dripping with oil!!!

almost forgot about the sounds, nothing really unusal apart from a type of ringing that it makes when cold , but most cars ive seen ring a bit when cold, (not knock or ping)

I mean before the service , my parents 1.3 auto was almost as fast and that made the same ringing....

The only other thing I could think of is your valves. They could have oil erosion build up. Mitsu's are nortorious for having this prob. Maybe wen the injector squirt the fuel in, the valves stay open for far too long over flowing the chamber with fuel....? It's kind of hard to say with out actually looking at the motor its self...So far the is the oly thing that comes to mind...Let me ask around and see what comes up

you've got a bad cylinder or your in need of a tune up. Sorry to say its probably one of your cylinder's, crack open your spark plugs one by one and run a compression test on each cylinder. If your cylinders are ok you could just need to tune it up replace the spark plugs and wires and the distributer cap. Or take it to a good mechanic or your dealer if the warrenty will cover the work. Good luck
