JIC Coilover. :D

Luke, or anyone else,
How many different types of JIC magic coilovers are there out in the market for our P11?
What are the differences between them?

Are they all height and damping, adjustable?
What is the quality like compare to say tein, koni or even KYB?

Please help here,
might be getting them soon

Thanks in advance

there are 2 types of JIC for the P11. There's the SA-1 which is a full threaded coilover with alumium pillowball mount. Then there's the FLT-2 which uses stronger piston/rod and with 15way dampening adjustability.
both are fully height adjustable.
the rest of the suspension you mentioned are all shocks/strut set up without pillowball mount. quality wise, i think all are pretty good, all well established company...personally i've used eibach/GAB, TEIN and JIC and was impressed bythe JIC the most (they cost more..hehe)...again, this has been mentioned a million times but JIC is more for track cuz they are stiff even when you get the adjustable ones. eibach/gab was waaay stiff for what it was intended for and the TEINs felt perfect...for the street that is.

Thanks Luke
Ok what is the difference in price between the SA-2 and the FLT2?
which one did you have?
And how hard are the SA2 do you know? hehe since it's not damping adjustable I better find out first.

the springs they come with are rated 10k/8k right?
How long do you think these things have a life time of (milage? ) with normal daily driving?

Thanks

i had the SA-1. difference is about $300 betweent he 2..email me if you want to get a price for either one and i'll give you a good deal.
normally, it comes with 8/6 springs for the SA but i got 10/8 cuz i see a lot of track time.
lifetime...i am not sure but they are fully rebuildable and the master distributor of JIC is 35mins away from my house so there is a solution when it actually gets blown (all shocks, no matter how good or expensive they are, blow)

it'll be $1350 shipped for you
you get 4 coilovers, 2 wrenches for you to adjust the height, 2 JIC stickers. if you want stiff/softer springs you can get those too. and you'll get a very happy grin on your face after you take your first tight turn

Luke, Thanks for that offer man...gimme some more time to do some research on it first

I have heard that coilovers have a common problem of being noisy. Was that a problem if ya JIC? and can you get "helper" springs for these babies?

JICs i had had NO noise what so ever! Just ask Dan (person who bought my car) and he'll tell you the same thing
actually, most coilovers that i've seen or experienced made no noises

What about the springs not sitting properly when it's lowered too much (when the car is jacked up)? How low can you drop it b4 this problem happens?
coz it doesn't look like it has helper springs, and the springs look quite short too.

the springs are obviously lower than the factory ones
no helper springs are included in the JIC you can get it if you want but i never need it. when jacking up the, the springs just stay in place as long as you got the perch locked.
you are worrying too much, i take the car to the tracks all the time and never once had a squeak outta the JIC, i assume they'll be just as good on your car
