Shuddering/Rattling on a 92 Maxima GXE
The car starts just fine. Afterwards at low RPMs and especially reverse, it begins to shudder and hesitate, rattling just a bit. After sending it up to about 45 mph, the shuddering/rattling decreases somewhat, but you can feel an obvious hesitation.
Changed the plugs, put in some injector cleaner. No leaks to speak of, that I can tell. No burning of oil or signs of smoke. No overheating or funny noises. Any ideas or suggestions? |

could be that the wires aren't making contact with the spark plugs...

It is the O2 sensor.
Apparantly the old computers cannot detect the faulty O2 sensor. I replaced mine and the hesitations went away. Now I have a perfectly solid engine that idles correctly. AllenE |
