its not tax time but play along

OK this was a little thing that I happened upon the other night Pretend its tax time and there is a new page on your form. It has a list of goverment programs you check where you want your money going you still have to pay same amount but you can choose where it goes.

Now the question is would welfare still exist? Forgien aid be anywhere as large? SS still around? What about our fire companies roads schools?

So post up what your theroy is and what youd like if you want and keep it civil please

my only fair right?

I think alot of changes would happen the national debt would be greatly redused. I think public schools would see less money the milatary would lose a chunk of funding. Alot of the programs like welfare section 8 houseing would only be getting a few thousand a year and would have to be shut down.

The best way for people to decide where their money is spent is by leaving it in their pockets to begin with. Slash taxes - remove income tax in its entirety.

The military can do with less money. The INS and the IRS need to be overhauled and streamlined. Welfare programs are out of hand. You mention section 8 (I've dealt with HUD programs for more then a decade) and its far from the worst. Comp Grant/Rehabilitation programs burn billions a year and do little more then put money in the pockets of the people who know where construction is going to happen.

I thought that the INS had been integrated into Homeland Security, and reduced somewhat.

Homeland Security is an oversight, but the structure and rules of the INS are still a conveluted mess.
