custom console

i got a type r console in my civic, but on the integra something else is supposed to connect to it(the part with the shift boot on it). The console on my civic doesn't connect to anything though it just has a cup holder at the end. what i was thinking was to send it someplace and get them to connect the type r console to the dash(where the cigarette lighter and a small holder thingy) and put a sigle din size slot in it. what i'm afraid of is if i do it will it crack at where they molded it to the dash.

here goes what i'm talking about.

http://members2.photofun.com/94civic...ery/GC10%2Ejpg

see how the civic console is at the end how it goes down and has cup holders, but with the type r console it goes up so i wanted to make something out of fiberglass so i can connect the type r console to right below the cigarette lighter and the ash tray and have a single din size slot. is this possible or will it crack after normal use. oh and thats not my car.

No I understand what you are talking about, but please explain how the hell you would hit that? I dont know how you go about getting in your car, but unless you like crawl in through a sun roof or something I dont see how you would damage that area...

i'm talking about where they'll mold it to the plastic part of the dash and sometimes you might hit it with something would it seperate from there or due to normal wear and tear

Ahhh... the molding is where it would crack then especially at the seams but, if they were smart they would fabricate a whole mold out of fiberglass/composite. A top notch car stereo shop might be able to do this. I know of a remote shop that does this kind of custom work. That's a lot of work...
