Motosport Modeling Forum Guidelines

Hello Motorsports Fans,

Welcome to the new Motorsports Modelling Sub-Forum! I hope PMan, Jay, Tonio and FOTW won't mind me kicking things off here. We've been pushing for this for a while and suddenly it is a reality - woohoo!

Over time we'll have to work out some guidelines for the operation of this forum. I envision it can be for not just projects and completed pictures but to pool resources and references on cars and subjects. For the time being pretty much anything will be fair game provided it is related to scale models of real competition vehicles. Racing, rallying, drags - bring it on. Even the odd "phantom racer" should be okay from time to time.

Anything related to building techniques should be in the main forum, and passenger, street and show cars in the "Completed and In-Progress Projects - Street" section.

Sound good? Please let us know what you think about the above, if you agree or disagree, get it off you chest.

Finally over time I and hopefully the other mods will endeavour to move many of the existing motorsports threads from the old In-Progress forum to here where they now belong. Please PM me with the URL of any such threads you may have started and think should be moved.

Re: Motosport Modeling Forum Guidelines

Hmmmm, I don't know.

I'm a lazy person, I'll admit it, and having to check two different forums to see everything isn't my idea of cool. On top of that I have to make like 2 WHOLE clicks just to get from one forum to the other.

Ofcourse, I guess it'll be a little more organized. Just didn't see need for change "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Thumbs down

I don't like this at all. It was so easy to just check the one sub-forum, and now there's two. But I think I'll eventually get used to this and learn to live with it

Just doesn't seem like a good idea right now. But it's probably good for those that are only interested in street or motorsport models, but not both.

Re: Motosport Modeling Forum Guidelines

I like it alot, there have been alot more competition models showing up lately on top of the usual street builds, nothing wrong with a little orginization.

Great Idea!

Re: Motosport Modeling Forum Guidelines

This sounds like a good idea, but don't know for sure how will it work in real life, this way we are separated and someone who builds street cars don't bother about racing and will never know what he is missing. But hey I like changes.

I like this change, now it's easier to find the projects I'm interested in. Earlier I every now and then missed some race/rally project under the floods of tuner car threads.

If the amount of threads keeps rising I'd suggest the next change would be to split the street section to stock and modified cars.

Also a link where you could get straight to the street-section from here and vice versa would be nice.

Donīt like the idea too much either.

Checking two forums with nearly the same subject (completed and in progress cars) doesnīt make too much sense for me.

Re: Motosport Modeling Forum Guidelines

You have my blessing. Have fun moving threads, because I won't be around to help much...

I remember when we first asked for this subforum about 8 months ago, the benefits far outweighed the detriments, but now I can't remember most of the argument...

Give it a while; it'll grow on you...

BTW, aren't there two "R"s in "motoRsport?"

Fantastic idea....i personally prefer motorsport models to the street/show cars so now I know that I dont have to trawl through a load of "complete street scooby" or "another skyline" threads to find the models I want to see.

As for the lazy people saying I cant be bothered looking through two sets of forums...come on!!!!!

Keep up the good work lads and ladies...
