Progress MB 500SL................

Just a quick mock up of my next project, its a kit a few of you have been helping me to get hold of as its been OOP for years. Well finally got my hands on one thanks to the classifieds and nis.k.a. Have no idea on the color yet or even if these Profounds are staying on, seem a bit big, or what do you guys reckon ?!?.............

Later, Mike

Re: Progress MB 500SL................

Never seen that kit in my life. I recently picked up a Tamiya DTM Mercedes with engine detail as well. More Mercedes, Tamiya!

Funny thing...
I was just looking at my RoG 300SL kit sitting in a pile.
Those wheels look a little big, but would go well with a more agressive body kit.
I did'nt think these were hard to find... This was a Tamiya America release and they made a zillion of them. I bought one at a Kay Bee in a mall for 4 bux years ago.

They are hard to find here in Europe along with other parts of the world, joecwlaw found one recently in Hong Kong going for 35 USD.

Any suggestions on the body kit thing, ideas would be appreciated !

Yes!! The older Mercedes are still the best.
This Tamiya Kit is fantastic, i have one of these, too. I canīt wait to see the progress of this.
The wheels suit the SL very well. -No idea for the colour!? What about a very dark, metallic green??

There's an AMG version available out there somewhere. I like those wheels with it.

Yes, think its a Fujimi & if its the one your talking about then its "in stock" today at HLJ. Cant imagine its half the quality of the Tamiya one though !

Thanks, Mike

No, Tamiya made one as well. it's basically the same as yours but with the added AMG parts and AMG wheels.
