2000 3.8, exhaust recall?

My friend has a 2000 3.8 mustang. The dealer wanted about $1000 bucks to fix a hole in the h-pipe from the A/C dripping on it. They said they had to replace the pipe and catalytics because it comes as a complete kit. A muffler shop welded in a new section of pipe for $75.00
I assume this is a common problem on mustangs. Does anyone know of a recall for this?

I have never heard of it before. But I'm not a 3.8 authority so it could be common?

Shows no recalls for anything to do with the A/C or Exhaust.. Sorry.

Norkex, thanks for checking. It's not really an AC leak, all AC's drip some water due to condensation. This model year seems to drip right on the h-pipe, so it rusts out.
