roush 2003

My cousin came to visit me this weekend because he wanted to go to the track and run his new car. Well after 3 runs his best pass was a 15.3 @ 91mph .What the hell is that? It is only a stage 2 but damn i drove it and it felt faster than that. Do you all know it has been tested. Maybe he isnt that good at driving it yet. So now for my next question We installed a supercharger on my brothers 5.9 dodge dakota (13.3 on street tire) and he wants to put a supercharge on the roush now i know he should have just bought the stage 3 but he said they didnt have one, and im just trying to help him out. So what is the best to get? I have been resarching the Paxton novi and the thing i dont like is the 1000 isnt intercooled. And the 2000 doesnt come with injectors or anything. Any comments or opinions of what supercharger to get. I dont think he should go over 6 psi non intercooled.

I's say its definitely driver to get a 15.3 in a stage 2 roush. He should be getting a lot better than that, probably a low to mid 14.

Id have to recommend a kenne belle for the roush cause the 4.6's seem to respond better to screw type superchargers vs. centrifical ones. What year is it?

I'd say a Kenne Bell or a Vortech becuase of the completeness and ease of both of thier kits. Also can be had in liquid aftercooled kits also.

Also 15.3 is mostly driver maybe some weather and track.

A Bone stock Gt Coupe with a 5 speed runs 14 seconds flat in the 1/4 mile, so I figure a Roush would be at least a little bit faster or about the same. My friend had a 99 GT coupe with a 4 speed automatic and it ran 14.5. I think 15.3 on a Roush means poor traction or poor shifting. Practice makes perfect though.

Re: roush 2003

Its the driver... The roush should be good for very low 14s or even a high 13 sec pass with good conditions. I would go with a Kenne Bell or a Vortech S-trim/ Paxton Novi2000 blower... But if I were to spend the money... Id save up a little more and go turbo.

yea its a 2003. I was thinking he was a little rusty on the stick. What kind of boost can he run i dout that he has forged pistons. I was guessing about 8 psi safe. And as far as injectors and fuel controllers, or maybe just a rising rate fuel regulator(fmu). Thanks for the help

Re: roush 2003

If hes looking to spend no more than 4k.... then a good centrifugal supercharger is the cheapest way to forced induction.

www.modularfordpowerhouse.com sells kits for the 99-04 Mustang GTs. They are dealers of the Steeda Superchager which is totally safe on the stock engine. Theres guys running close to/at 400rwhp safely. Its a reflash on your computer instead of having a chip. Give em a call theyll be more than happy to help you out with anything.
