I need some opinions
For starters I have a 94 v6 coupe aod with about 150,000 miles on it. I am trying to figure out what the best way to get my car to put out around 220hp. I’m not even going to try anything with the engine I have in it now. What I’m not sure about is if it would be better to get a rebuilt 232 engine that would drop right in and try and get the power out of that or what about putting a 99 v6 in that already has around 200hp? I could get a 302 and since I would be swapping engines anyways that wouldn’t be too bad but would switching everything out of my car to make the v8 work be worth it? Or finally is all this stupid and I could just trade in my car and get a gt for the price of replacing this stuff?

Re: I need some opinions
Oh and I forgot to mention I will have around 4000 to spend on this (hopefully). Thanks for any help.

Its a tough call.
We do not know what your capabilities are. I would sale the darn thing, and look for a 5.0 myself.

Re: I need some opinions
the gt has a lot more than just more power, the whole structure is stronger to withstand the 305 hp of the cobra engine, and the high speeds of 150 mph, the brakes wheels and suspension members are all built to handle these loads. if you alter the horspower dramactally, things are going to break. things breaking at speed sux, go for the GT, like mine for instance, 2000 GT like new, and NOS. $12,000.

Hey thanks guys. I decided that I am going to start looking for a 94-95 GT and try and trade in my car. I was looking at swapping in a 3.8L supercoupe engine which has a suprising amount of power(at least to me) but I would rather have a 302 anyways. What sucks is that some ladies insurence company just paid a dealership 5000$ to fix my car after she ran into it. I am guessing thats more than I could get for it but I didn't get an option to just take the money or anything.
