heater blower motor stay on

I have a 1999 Astro with a strange problem, the heater blower stays on at all times. This happened while I was on vacation, so I came back to a dead battery. After connecting jumper cables, the heater blower started without keys in the ignition. The van does not have a remote starter.Any ideas where to start looking?

I went out and tried to see what I could do with this after I posted. After I pulled the 30 amp A/C fuse I heard the fan relay drop out. When I put the fuse in again the blower worked fine. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the wiring diagram?

Re: heater blower motor stay on

Bad ignition switch (or relay if you have a remote starter). GM is having major recalls with ignition switches

Bad ign. switch...??? I would replace the relay first. I went to a junk yard and got two for under 10 beans. If it was the ign, switch u would have alot more than just a blower fan staying on.

Re: heater blower motor stay on

I just incountered the same problem and was wondering what corrected the problem, the ign switch or the relay?
As soon as I hook up the battery, the blower comes on. When the vehicle is started, there is no controling the speed at all, and the rear ac does not work either now. It must be the relay I would think. Right?

Thanks in advance for any additional information.
