I took it down the track once and I got a 16.1@83. After that we figured out how to launch the car. Drive around the water box and only do a little bunout like one or two revoluitions of the tire. then powerbreak and bringthe rpms just under 1000 then let her go. We also had the traction controll turned off. We found that if it is turned on it cuts fuel at the first sign of tire spin and takes too long to recover.

Re: 03 Grand Am stock GT track times

In spring I will be attending Drags at the Budweiser Park Drag strip , near Edmonton Alberta Airport. Ive been working so hard on my 2000 Grand Am , Even had a super charger for a little while till it seazed up. Untill i find one I will be only racing it N/A , unless i find another one. With the supercharger , my friend clocked me with a stop watch at just under 6 second 0-60 ,we also guess Im just over 100mph on the quarter mile but I honestly think the time is unacurate unless I try at the track. Ive done my own custom porting on the intakes and port polished the exhaust and added some nice open headers , I recently put a Delco Chip in it (I barried the needle several times) I tried Zex Dry nitrous , works damn well but Its illegal so I sold the kit. (only a 50 hp gain if working at optimun bottle preasure) I also have a high stall torque converter with heavy duty axles and i stiffened up my suspension a little too. 90% of my mods are custom. Hell my cold air sytem is for a 97-up Ford F-150 with cold air intake and ram air secondary intake for in motion. I also use 2 1/2 inch exaust pipe on bottles.

Re: 03 Grand Am stock GT track times

Hello, I purchased a beltronics performance timer/ accelerator, too see how fastmy car would run.2000 pontiac grandam se 3400,slp dual exhaust, drop in replacement k&n air cleaner, tornado, royal purple synthetic oil.It said my car did (0-60),7.37 (quarter mile)15.53/88.4,(Hp)166,(pk hp)189 at 41mph.that was at an industrial park straight away, just flooring the gas petal from the start with the trackion control on.I remodified my car< I still have the synthetic oil,a throttle position enhancer,a stage three cold air intake with a k&N cone filter, and a auto trans intercepter, going to englishtown nj april 10,for an all pontiac event.going to race my car, I'm hoping to hit aleast 90 mph hopefully. Was told to rev car up to 2200 rpms ,and leave on third yellow.

That's pretty good. A buddy of mine has seen a stock Grand Am GT that ran 15.3.
