BAD noise when turning. need help!

I drive a 93 civic LX and i bought it about 7 months ago. The prob is that its got a clacking or knocking noise when i turn left or right. It does it when cornering tight at speeds about 30 - 45 mhp, and it also does it when accelerating and turning. never when just accelerating. I'm guessing its got something to do with the breaks (which are old) or the bearings. So if someone could help me out that would be great! Thanx!

You don't need 2 threads in the same forum right under each other, 1 thread is fine man.

As I said in the other thread, it's probably your CV Joints, so check those. Bad CV Joints tend to make a clicking sound, especially when turning. If you had/have a leaky CV Boot, then something got in though the leak and messed up the CV joint, which is why it clicks. If you catch a leaky CV boot asap, it is possible to replace just the boot if your CV joint isn't damaged. If you let it go, the CV Joint will get damaged...You'll probalbly need to replace the half-shafts then. It was probably let go, and it messed up your CV Joints.

Re: BAD noise when turning. need help!

I had the same "clacking" noise in slower turns and it turned out to be a busted motor mount on the driver's side. More than likely it's the CV joints though. Blitz, check behind each of your wheels and see if everything's covered in grease. It's like a silver color and it will be all over the place. If there is none, check around the rubber boots for cracks and grease.

If those are fine, check your motor mounts to see if they're loose or something. If those are fine, check your springs/suspension to see if they're on straight. If not, sometimes the springs (under pressure from turning like you said) will squeeze and kinda grind.

Re: BAD noise when turning. need help!

Aight, thx guys. i looked behind me wheels and around that area and didnt find anything and there is no leaking on the ground or anywhere else. i got a bro in a car garage that said he can hook me up with a little check-up on that.

Re: BAD noise when turning. need help!

i bet its one of the CV joints. i had the same problem about a month ago. it got so bad that when i was goin down the road at about 60, the car jerked to the right and almost ran me off the road. then i got to my house and i backed into my driveway and i heard this loud popping noise and i couldnt move the car. it cost roughly $190 for the shop in town to fix it. which really sucked ass
