Needing info on Whipple Charger with other mods
Hello everyone, I have a 2000 Silverado 4.8l reg. cab short bed 2wd. I have added a K&N FIPK along with 2 Flowmaster turbo mufflers and high flow cats with a Hypertech Power Programer 3. I am in the process of saving up for a Whipple Charger system but was wanting to do some other mods first. I need to know if what I want to do will all work together or not. First off will my Programer work with a Whipple Charger or not, I seen they have a special programer that Whipple sells specially for supercharged engines. I am also wanting to get a Flex-a-Lite Electric fan and Underdrive Pulleys, would they work together with a Whipple and how would I figure my belt size? I would also like to get a BBK 80mm Throttle Body but dont know if I need that.
Well anyways I would appriciate yalls feedback on these issues or any other ideas you may have. Thanks everyone, kmoney67954 |

Ok so I take it that no one knows anything about superchargers or else this was a bad question. I really would like to know about this because I would lilke to know what I can and cant do to my pickup, before I start doing mods.

Ok, ive got a couple more question before I get started. The Whipple should fit under a factroy hood, shouldnt it? And with the underdrive pulleys will the belt size be the same, and if not how do you deterimine your belt size? And the same for the electric fans? I know these are probably simple things but I am just starting to learn how to do this stuff. Thanks for you guys input and if you know of anything else I could do for peformance I would be glad to hear it.
Thanks again, kmoney67954 |

No new hood for a whipple. It drops in like it was made for your truck. And yes, you will definitely need a new belt. The best way is to park outside the autoparts building, buy one that might fit, try it on, if it doesn't work go exchange it. And it also depends on the pulley you put on your charger cause you can adjust your boost with different ones. Other than that, you don't really have any way of getting the right belt. Be careful with the fan though. The whipple requires some modification to the original fan housing that could interfer with accessory fans. Just an FYI, your truck will make more noise. Like a constant whinning. Make sure the air filter is COMPLETELY seperated from the engine compartment cause blowing hot air in the summer into your engine will decrease gas mileage and not give you more hp.
