turning signals acting goofy

my turning signals won't work unless i pull the stick back until my brights are damn near on. otherwise the light will stay solid and unblinking. anyone have any ideas. they were that way when i bought the car, but it's grown worse.

Re: turning signals acting goofy

I have a 92' Eurosport and havn't had that prob, but my grandma has a 90' 2.5L and her blinkers did the exact same thing....I had to drive it one day and figured you had to pull them back......It bothered me so much that while I had the car I decide to fix it....I had to take the whole steering wheel off...Poped the horn button off...Took nut retainer off and had to use a 4 way lug wrench to break the nut loose...But be careful....when it finally broke loose one end of the wrench hit the visor and ripped it to shreds....Lol....But I got that all appart and theres just a bunch of copper contacts in there...I took the thing out and scrubed it with a wire brush and then rubbing alcohol and then put wd-40 on them to prevent it....Put it halfway backtogether just to check it, and it worked just fine.....To this day..about 2 years later it still works fine...You will need to get one of the pullers for the steering wheel or I just made my own out af a huge washer and some bolts that fit in the steering wheel....Have fun with it....Its a pain.....But its worth it to not have to fuss with the blinkers even for a few days....And I was forgiven for the tore up visor since I got it fixed.
