Exhaust installed on my 99 Silverado today

I've got a 99 Silv ext cab 4.8 and put on the exhaust today. I started with a flowmaster 40 series muffler (1 in/2out) and it sounded good....but was a little too loud during normal acceleration for my tastes. Idle and full throttle sounded great though.... The muffler shop said that it does usually work better on standard cab trucks if you don't want too much noise.

The muffler shop recommended the Magnaflow to quiet things down. They were right...the Magnaflow sounded great with my truck! They put on a y pipe after the muffler and ran the two pipes straight out the back with chrome tips.

Anyways, for someone that wants a Flowmaster 40 series muffler with 12 miles on it in great condition for their truck cheap let me [email protected] Thanks!

Yeah, magnaflow sounds awesome, very similar to my borla setup. I, too, had flowmaster on my truck, but like you, I found it to be too loud for my taste. I've now decided I'm gonna cut my cats go with a true dual borla system. I'm gonna put two electric cutouts infront of my mufflers, so I can intimidate my competition before a race by hitting a switch an running open headers. Congrats on the magnaflow purchase. You'll be happy with them.

Well, next up is some headers and then the programmer and then I'm done modding. Especially after I get some good tires/wheels put on....and maybe some nerf bars...damn...never realized this truck was going to cost so much to maintain!!

If you're looking for shorties, this is a good website to look at. They have several companies and a few clearance headers. Check them out.

2004 Silverado 4.8 2wd, I went with the series70 Flowmaster one in two out with 3 half inch tips, sound is great, performance is better, gas mileage went from 17 to 20 mpg, but I did throw in a k&n filter 70 series sweet sound on take off, but on road does not bother you in cab...very mellow sound, just enough to let you know your give her gas....

I'm just looking for $50 bucks plus shipping for the flowmaster. Like I said, it only has 1 day of use on it, was put on my 4.8 99 Silv Ext Cab, and I'm basically just trying to free up some more space in my 1 car garage. If you are interested, send me an email at [email protected]. Thanks!

Also... anything on that truckperformance site, if you want something possibly at an even cheaper price than they have listed.. feel free to email me at [email protected].. or message me here, and I can hook you up with parts for a bit cheaper. Good site.. lots of good brand parts, and to get them even cheaper is nice if you ask me.
