mitsu 3000gt vr-4 vs evo VIII
i was wondering is a 3000gt vr-4 went against a evoVIII, stock for stock, which car would win? i was just wondering about this because my friend got a Evo8 and its a sweet and fast car.

um, i believe i read that they run about 14 flat, but I don't remember where I read that. My vr4 ran 13.5 stock.

deng thats pretty fast for a stock.. would HP have a matter in the vr-4 being faster than the evo?

Re: mitsu 3000gt vr-4 vs evo VIII
Well I don't know what the evo's stock hp is, but the vr4 is 320hp twin turbo, with AWD, so that accounts for its fast times. The only downside is the vr4 weighs quite a bit more(about 3900lbs stock)

Re: mitsu 3000gt vr-4 vs evo VIII
I just went to Mitsu's website, they are saying 271hp, AWD, with a TD05HR-16GK turbo running 19psi, and it's just under 3300lbs. Hmm, this would be a close race. Wish I knew for sure what it ran in the quarter, but I have a feeling it would be a drivers race.

sorry guys, for the most part we can't outrun a evo-8, some mags have got it down to 13.1 in the 1/4, though some say it ran a 13.8 at the worst, we run 13.5 consistantly(well not mine cause mine is a 1st gen)so with 2 good drivers most likely we loose. and they are awd like us, i beleive for rally purposes.

Re: mitsu 3000gt vr-4 vs evo VIII
Thanks for the clarification...after I read up on it some more last night, I was seriously doubting that they would run as high as 14 flat.
I might just have to go testdrive one of those for fun on a nice saturday afternoon. |

thats because some evo's are 7s and some are 8's. evo-7 run more like 14.0 in the 1/4 and thats most likely what you raced, finding an evo-8 is very rare. but then again its possible that you did win cause if the driver isn't exellent you can win
