fun in the rain

So i am sure most of you mustangs owners have done this at one point or anther, but I just got my mustang in late december, and live in sother california, so i havn't had much of a chance to do this before. So near my college there this pretty big commuter parking lot and is usually empty on the weekends. So i had taken my car out there a couple of weekends ago to take pictures of it (availbalbe here: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/518962)
while i was out there I tried a few times to slide around some corners and stuff, and it worked a bit, but not as well as i had hoped and i thought to myself, this would be awsome with a little rain. Well this weekend i was graced with this rain. And today i took it out there, and it was awsome!
I am in the first gear and turn the first corner, i just tap the throttle a bit, and boom, i do a 180 , take off again, and just start taping the throttle here and there, sliding all around, it was awsome. I have the stock suspension (havn't even put on subframes yet) so i got tossed around quite a bit, but nevertheless, it was great fun. I just had to post it here cuase I have wanted to do that for a long time, and if it keeps on raining, I am gonna keep on going out there and just sliding all over the place. Yay for rear-wheel drive power.

Re: fun in the rain

ah know ah know..but like i said I have a totall stock suspension wthiout subframes on a convertible..whenever i try to slide, what happens is that my car just gets thrown to one side and so a lot of the power is lost just one that with not nearly enough getting ot the wheels.

Here bud, here's a great way to whip around a 180 in a very little amount of space. I experiment all the time with my car and found this the easiest and best way to do it. Face the back end to line up exactly with the way you want your front end to be facing in a couple of seconds. 2- Rev up the gas and dump that damn clutch. 3- Let the tires rip for 3-4 feet and turn the wheel really fast all the way to whichever way you want the car to slide around at. 4 - You'll be facing the opposite direction so dont let off the gas just turn the wheel back in and keep on the gas. But a big safety tip, do it in a big open space first then you can get down to little spaces so you dont bend or scratch your wheels. Anyways....have fun, but at the same time try to be a little safe.
