I have a 1998 LT. The interior lights have quit working when you open the doors. Fuses are OK. Does anyone know where the relay that turns these on & off is located? Anything else to check?
Thanks |

Re: '98 Suburban; Interior lights not working
Don't have any idea although my '99 has the same problem in that the lights won't go out. I have to engage the dome override switch or it runs the battery down.

i dunno if you guys have the same pinswitches as i do, but check the two pinswitches in the dash for the driver and passenger doors. when i bought my burb both were melted and malfuncioning. but my burb is a 95, so i dunno how much they have changed. they were only like 8 bucks from the dealer, just a pain to change.

Put headlamp switch in last night and it worked ! thanks for the info ! P.s. If anyone has blower switch quit working (99),buy new plugin and wires along with just blower switch ( do not have to replace whole head unit ) and that will solve that problem as well.Do not start with resister untill you check plugin at back of blower switch.$50.00 and Its brand new again..... |

Re: '98 Suburban; Interior lights not working
the interior lights use a negative switch in system. assuming your fuses are good and the bulb is good remove the driverside door sill(i think thats what they call it, plastic thing on edge of carpet. there is a bundle of wires taped up in a plastic shell remove tape and find the broken wire i believe it an orange one. this problem happens all the time dirt and water corodes the wires make sure you tape everything up good after you repair the broken wire. good luck i've seen this problem lots.
