13B N/A Port
ok I've been doing some research on the different ports, and I just wanna ask a few questions to those of you with experience with porting and such.
first of all I'm wanting to go to about 225-250hp and probably never more than that, and it will be a daily driver except in the winter, and probably not in the rain either(unless it happens to rain while I'm driving, cuz I can't really do much about that). I'm not planning on racing it, well I may take it to the track now and then since we have a drag strip and road coarse about 15 min. from my house and it is only like 10 bucks on thursday nights once a month. but anyways if you need to know more just ask. I've been looking at the mild port the most because it only has slightly more fuel consumption and it is a good DD and good for street use. I heard with that port it would give me about 200hp, now does this mean on a stock engine or what? then I was looking at the extended port as well. it says it still has good driveability but has more fuel consumption and you have to have intake and exhaust for it to work well(which I plan to have anyways) but it is supposed to make 220hp and like before is this stock or what? sooooooo just fill me in with your opinions, ideas, experiences, and yell scream whatever, just give me a lot of good info ok?

Re: 13B N/A Port
For 250HP you're looking at a bridge port.

Re: 13B N/A Port
if I wanted 250 without mods I'd need a bridgeport... I'm talking about porting it and adding some mods, I just want a N/A daily driver, so I wanna port it and add mods and get it up to 225-250

Re: 13B N/A Port
Well, that means an increase of 90HP. I don't know for sure how much a p-port could do.

Re: 13B N/A Port
why are you talking about a p-port? thats the biggest freaking port, and isn't a daily driver, and has a short engine life, plus it gives you way more than 250 horses, your looking at 300+, and a bridge port is for like 275hp... plus your posting in sentences, I wanted some details about things not just a one sentence piece of info(especially when its wrong)

Re: 13B N/A Port
Sorry about that. I mean street-port, not p-port, they sound the same in my head.
![]() Anyway, you've pretty much stated already what you need. Full exhaust (header, mid-pipe), intake, port the intake manifolds, and finally port the motor.

Re: 13B N/A Port
I'm still trying to decide which to use, a mild or extended port. both should be fairly easy to get to 225 with atleast, don't know how easy 250 would be with the mild port though... anyone know the price difference in the two if there is one? and I'd probably want to upgrade the whole fuel system and oil system and add an air/fuel thing too right? yea and I plan on opening it all up from the headers back and having an intake. I plan on get new rotors and rotor housings too, not positive yet, could I just get something done to the current motor to make it a little more reliable for the higher horses besides porting it? I figure I could rebuild it but I just wanna know what everyone elses opinions on the situation are.

Re: 13B N/A Port
The only way to get more power from the NA is full exhaust then intake. After that you could port the intake manifolds. Last step is finally porting the motor.

Re: 13B N/A Port
but to keep it reliable at higher horsepower I should rebuild it right? and wouldn't I want a new fuel and oil system still? I'm not saying thats gonna give me more horsepower, I'm jsut saying that would be a good idea of things to do next.
