planning on buying a 1998 911

hello im new at this, someone is offering me a 1998 911(996 i think) with 7000 miles on it, what do you think would be a good price for it? its really in very good condition inside and out, the motor sounds great, but im planning that a mechanic checks it more thoruoghly, on what issues should i focus my attention.

thanks

Re: planning on buying a 1998 911

check the engine. run and drive it. definetely check the underbody as many people bottom out and damage it. otherwise those are your biggest concerns. as for the price i really wouldnt know what they are going for. i personally wouldnt spend any more than 40k for a 1998 in any condition.
