Ask spoolin12, Ive seen some of his r/c videos and he probly the best R/c drifter Ive seen.. he should be able to answer your questions. I was low on cash and did have any reliable source for the parts, so i just rigged the tires with the back side of electrical tape Worked wonders.. If im remembering correctly, he did the same

electronic tape.......ehhhhh, that's a good idea.

However, there are several combined ways to achieve the "drift" result:

- use sponge tires (rather than rubber), in my city, many people use sponge instead of rubber tires
- set zero degree "camber" on the rear
- set more than -2mm camber on the front wheels
- set the ball differential at the rear to "kind of loose" (but not loosing the screw inside too much, or your differential may fall apart during the drift) <=== the most important setting to make the car "drift"

Re: Drifting R/c's. *Vid*

i have been drifting for a little now and those are all good tips best thing tough is you need more torque than top end, so what i use is a 12x2 turn reedy motor and a 87t spur gear with a 29t pinion gear has good top end and primo torque

I dont see why you would use sponge tires, i believe you are talking about foam tires. Their grip depends on the surface, the rougher the surface, the more grip, on a smooth new blacktop, I can see that, but not anywhere else as they have that much grip. I havent looked at the video yet, but ill look at it later, im sure its good, but personally, im after grip driving for onroad and drifting a little bit for offroad.

the views and opinion expressed in this post are my own and in no way reflect the opinion or views of DTE Energy (company madated statement)
