ya, there is no reason why you cant. Actually its better for you engine if you do use a higher octane. Its burns cleaner and hotter giving better performance. It just costs more, thats the only draw back.

Re: Premium Gasoline Can i Use it?

the benefits of running the premium in the car arent really worth paying for the gas. i put premium in my 3.4 for like 2 weeks but i didnt notice a difference worth the money

Re: Premium Gasoline Can i Use it?

Someone should invent a car that runs on urine, we'd be set for life.

Re: Premium Gasoline Can i Use it?

lmao, yeah urin running cars only if it had a high beer content though but i run plus in my car rather than premium. and actually to be a dick, lower octane burns slower, actually makeing more power cuz it presses dwn on the piston longer. the high octain explodes, but is less prone to detonation. hence its use in high compression engines.

Yeah, with the 6er I'd go with midgrade. You don't have enough compression to get the binefits of high octain. If you have 9.0 or higher compression then I'd go with premium but not with anything lower.

Re: Premium Gasoline Can i Use it?

I put Premium in my Nissan. It actually runs better with it, before i started using it, it would ping a lot. And I obviously put premium in the T/A.

not to be a jerk or anything but the 3.4 has a 9 to 1 and the 3.8 has 9.5 to 1, i just thought it'd be good to know for future reference.

Depending on timing advance you really don't need preimum untill about 10:1. You won't get better perfomance from higher octane fuel. The octane is just a flashpoint rating. Preimum takes more heat to burn. Accually if you run preimum in a low compression car you do not get a complete burn. not enough there to burn it all. The GN's when they are nt under boost tend to run rich because of this.

Re: Premium Gasoline Can i Use it?

I run 98 octane premium gas in my car, coz thats the premium gas ni the country where i live, and believe me the difference is clear from when i use the normal 95 octane fuel. I definetely think its worth using the premium stuff.
