Re: Cel Shadeing Fun
yea i know, i had to do it in MS Paint cuz my PSP7 wouldnt load up, i may touch it up or just do a diff car, i think it looks ok, but all criticism is welcome along with advice
although i give it this, its does look alot more cartoon-ish then cel-shaded |

Re: Cel Shadeing Fun
it looks like you just took the paintbrush and just drew all over it?
if ya wanna know how to do cel shading, it's a simple process. use the line tool to outline the car and shadows, the use the selection tool and paint bucket to fill in areas.

Re: Cel Shadeing Fun
there's tutorials everywhere on how to actually do a true cel shade. 8ate8 has a good method that's simple to do. Technically his isn't a true cell shade, because what that entails is the following.
-Make a copy of the car layer, lighten it so you can see the lines -Make a new layer, outline the car body lines/shadow lines. -Copy/paste that to a new image. Choose your color. -Do that color over the entire body of the car. -For the darker areas, layer the color on heavier and heavier. That's it in a nutshell. I did a cel shade using that method, and while it looked incredible, 4 hours and 36 layers later I still wasn't done. My patience went out the window. when it's done right, it looks awesome, though. But I can achieve the same quality art with a pencil, some colored pencils, and an art marker or two. |
